Happy Teeth Dental Care

As a dentist, Dr. Nguyen Tau (better known to his patients and staff as “Dr. T”) enjoys meeting and getting to know his patients. He graduated from Tufts University where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Biology. Upon receiving his DMD from the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine, Dr. T continued his post-doctoral education at the Montefiore Medical Center residency program in New York, where he now lectures to residents.

Having had extensive training in multiple facets of dentistry, Dr. T is able to offer his patients state-of-the-art care in cosmetic dentistry, including same-visit porcelain crowns and veneers, painless root canals and chair-side teeth whitening after their dental cleaning. Dr. T believes in building strong doctor-patient relationships based on values of sincerity and honesty and, with every procedure, he strives to provide complete patient comfort and satisfaction.

Dr. T also enjoys serving his patients with Special Needs, offering them comprehensive dental care, which may include anything from dental cleanings to root canals and extractions. For more extensive treatment plans, Dr. T has hospital privileges that allow him to offer comprehensive care to his patients without further cause for anxiety or fear.

When not practicing dentistry, Dr. T enjoys the company of his family and friends, particularly spending time with his children.

As a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Tau has always dreamed of working with children. She graduated with Honors from Brown University where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Studies and Human Health. Afterwards, she taught Science, English, and Math at St. Leo Middle School in Leominster, MA. Her teaching experience reinforced her desire to continue working with children. After graduating Magna Cum Laude from the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Tau continued onto the Pediatric Dental Residency program, where she now combines her love of teaching and pediatric dentistry as a clinical instructor at her alma mater.

Always believing that dentistry should be fun and fearless, Dr. Tau strives to ensure that all her patients are comfortable and at ease in the dental chair. It is her greatest reward to see her patients grow, overcoming their dental fears and having fun at their dental visits.

​

For her very young and highly anxious patients who require a lot of dental treatment, Dr. Tau has hospital privileges that allow her to care for her patients without traumatizing them.  Dr. Tau also offers dental care with nitrous oxide (laughing gas) to help ease her patients’ dental stress and anxiety.

Dr. Tau combines her love of children and traveling through her various trips around the globe with Kindness in Action, a dental group providing dental treatment to under-served communities around the world. However, she always enjoys returning home to her family and her patients.

Dr. David Wegehoft was awarded a full-tuition academic/music scholarship to the University of Iowa, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance. Next. he went on to study at the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine, obtaining his Doctor of Dental Medicine. While at BU, he was presented with the National Health Service Corps Scholarship.

"Dr. Dave" is a transplant from the Midwest. He grew up in Iowa having a wide variety of interests including music, sports, academics and theater. For 6 years he pursued acting and singing in New York and Los Angeles before following his passion of medical sciences.  Dr. Dave loves working with kids and has been practicing dentistry, primarily pediatric dentistry, for 16 years. He is truly looking forward to meeting and treating all of the wonderful children and their families. 

Dr. Persiah Bakhtiari started her dental path at University of Minnesota School of Dentistry and that is where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. Then, she continued to Boston University School Dental Medicine to complete her pediatric dental residency. This advanced training equipped her with the skills and knowledge to provide specialized cared for children, adolescents, special needs, and medically compromised patients.

She is passionate about creating a safe and enjoyable experience for her patients. Her goal is to make the dental office a place where kids feel at ease and even have fun. But her dedication extends beyond the clinic. She is equally committed to educating and empowering patients, emphasizing the importance of a twofold approach to home dental care.

She is a board-certified pediatric dentist through the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and she is an active member of both the American Dental Association and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

​

When she's not in the dental world, she enjoys spending time with her family and new puppy. She is also an avid restaurant goer and enjoys experiencing new restaurants.

Dr. Daniel Lam grew up in Springfield, Massachusetts, and went to school in the surrounding areas of West Springfield, Chicopee, and Amherst. From a young age, his life was shaped by his family, education, and strong ties to the Vietnamese Catholic community in Springfield.

He went on to pursue dentistry, earning his degree from Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine in Boston. After completing his training, Dr. Lam moved to Central Massachusetts, where he now practices general dentistry and care for patients in Hopkinton and Shrewsbury. He finds it deeply rewarding to build long-term relationships with his patients and serve the communities he calls home.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Lam enjoys staying active and having new experiences. He played soccer throughout high school and loves saltwater fishing. Traveling is another of Dr. Lam’s favorite hobbies, especially when he plans trips with his friends and family to discover new foods, cultures, and places.
